The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, a congregation of women religious in the
Catholic Church, have sisters serving in Alaska. Georgia, Maryland, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
The Motherhouse is the central house of the Grey Nuns of the
Sacred Heart and operates under the auspices of the Congregation. The Motherhouse provides living spaces for active and retired sisters, assisted living for sisters who are elderly or infirm, central offices for the Grey Nun Congregation, and spiritual growth opportunities for all who come here.
The Motherhouse complex also includes D’Youville Manor, an assisted living facility for elderly women and men, Grey Nun Academy, a private elementary school for children PreK-8, and residences for the Sisters at the main Motherhouse building and at Marguerite Place Community at Augustine Hall. The love of Christ for God's poor provides the lens through which we seek to provide simple but adequate healthcare, quality education, just wages and working conditions within attractive and spacious surroundings
