Becoming a Grey Nun

In the spirit of St. Marguerite d’Youville, our foundress, the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart strive to be signs of God’s unconditional love as we collaborate to create a more just and compassionate world.

Are you called to live a life of love for the world as a Roman-Catholic Sister?

Do you desire to share your God-given gifts and talents with the outcast and the stranger?

Do you reject worry over material possessions in favor of trusting that God can, and will, provide all that you need?

These are some of the thoughts and feelings that inspired a young, Catholic widow, Marguerite d’Youville to live a simple life of service. Her life spoke to those around her so powerfully that many were anxious to live like her. In time, the women who embraced this simple religious lifestyle became nurses, educators, social workers, spiritual directors, and more. They developed their minds, hearts and hands to be of service to God’s people. They gave without counting the cost. Can you?

If you desire to share the love in your heart with the world…

If you would like to be more than the power of one…

If you value the gifts and talents you have been blessed with…

We invite you to explore with us religious life as a Catholic Sister. A life that brings joy beyond all measure, a life that will help to build a compassionate world, a life that could inspire others.
