A snapshot of the last eleven months for the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart and a look into the immediate future leaves us awestruck and a little breathless. But here we are, in the midst of adjusting to a major transition in our congregational life. Since September 2015, seventy-one of our Sisters have moved to new places of residence—many from the Motherhouse and others from various geographic locations (a challenge). All have moved to places in proximity with each other in the Philadelphia area (a blessing!) During that same time period, God saw fit to call eight of our Sisters home. We also moved our generalate offices and vacated our Motherhouse. For the first time we no longer have a “Motherhouse.” Every geographic area where we lived and worked prior to last September and every one of our now102 Sisters has been significantly affected by this change.
In October, we will participate in a congregational “graced history retreat “ with Sister Nancy Sylvester, IHM as our guide. We ask for your prayers as we discern how to respond authentically to the Spirit’s invitation in the present, for the good of our world.
