The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart have a long history of working in education, not always in the classroom. A good example of this is Sr. Eileen Spanier. Sr. Eileen has been a Campus Minister for many years, in Buffalo and more recently in North Carolina.
Eileen’s interest in working with young adults stems from her work in education, but is motivated mostly by her desire to be present to those in need of guidance and support during a vulnerable and challenging time of their lives.
This is one way a modern day Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart is carrying forth the work begun by St. Marguerite d’Youville on the streets of Montreal. Like St. Marguerite, Sr. Eileen is able to see into the hearts of the lonely, the confused, the searching, and to help them find peace in this world.
