“In this mortal life, mercy and forgiveness are the path which always leads to grace.” Julian of Norwich

So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor 5:20

During Lent we are called to be both reconciled to God and agents of reconciliation.

As Christ’s ambassadors we say yes to the call to heal relationships. Christ will always be the lead agent.

Spirituality is about seeing. Sin is about blindness. Sin is always a refusal to grow. Let us ask ourselves some questions.

What is our understanding of reconciliation? Are we able to name the disorders in our own lives? How are our lives manifesting the ministry of Christ to be ministers of the love of God and the healing of ourselves to others?

Let us continue our Lenten journey and find mercy and forgiveness in our lives.

Sister Mary O’Connell has served as Assistant Treasurer and Director of Development for the Grey Nuns. She now lives at D’Youville Manor at the Grey Nuns Motherhouse.
