What Immigration means to me

My Mother was French Canadian by birth, I always knew that. We lived on the northern border of New York State.

When visiting Ellis Island it hit me that she was an immigrant who came into the country at a time when many Canadians were coming to the USA to become naturalized American citizens. My Mother was one of them.

Sr. Mary Elizabeth Looby, GNSH is a member of  the Leadership Team of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. She has worked in Pastoral Care and Parish ministry. She currently oversees the Vocation/Formation  efforts and Communications for the Congregation.
