Sister Jean O’Shaunecy (Sister James Marie) spent almost 40 of her ministry years at her alma mater, Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo, where she served as teacher, Dean of Students, and Assistant and Associate Principal. Prior to this ministry, she earned degrees from D’Youville College and Villanova University and pursued studies at St. John Vianney Seminary (now Christ the King) and the State University of Buffalo. Following eight years as a teacher at Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, Jean responded to a request from the congregation to serve as Vocation Director. Several of her students from Little Flower are members of the congregation. Jean continues to live in Buffalo and works in various service-oriented ministries at Response to Love and at Christ the King Parish as an Outreach Eucharistic Minister.
When I entered the Grey Nuns, I did so with all my heart to follow in the footsteps of our foundress, Saint Marguerite d’Youville, and to serve willingly and faithfully. I have been enriched, blessed and gratified by being present to and helping the young, the elderly and the needy understand and strengthen their spirituality and to know and love God. During my 60 years as a Grey Nun, I have been inspired by the deep spirituality, intelligence, graciousness and charity toward all that these dedicated women, Grey Nuns, exemplified as they served in so many different ministries. These years have been enlightening, professionally fulfilling and personally gratifying.

Hi Jean O—Hows life treating you? Are you going crazy in quarantine like the rest of us?
