“Yes” We Gathered at the River– 90 years of Memories

Written on: May 28, 2014

shrineWith mixed emotions we come to another ending. For over 90 years the GNSH enjoyed the peace, quiet, beauty and friendships to be found at Sisters’ Point on the St. Lawrence River, Ogdensburg, NY. Sisters’ Point will always be remembered for the many joy-filled times of peaceful sunrises and sunsets. The swimming and fishing stories are multiple, too! Like Mother D’Youville we were enriched and energized by the waters of the St. Lawrence. Thanks be to God for all the beautiful memories! Thank you to Bishop Conroy and Farmer O’Hanlon and family for thinking of the GNSH all those years ago.  Gratitude also to Mr. Frank Murray, John Ward and Lawrence Ragan for the shrine built to honor the Blessed Mother in 1950. May they all rest in peace. Deo Gratias!
