With just nine days left in the fall session, the Pennsylvania Senate is considering a vote to undermine the Clean Air Act. If they succeed, they’ll stand firmly in the way of our best chance to cut the massive amounts of global warming pollution spewing from power plants each day and secure a safer future for our kids. [1]
We’re running out of time to avoid the worst impacts of climate change—more frequent storms like Superstorms Sandy, massive sea level rise, and the melting of the polar ice caps.
If this bill passes, it will be much harder for our state to develop a plan under the Clean Air Act that would cut global warming pollution from power plants by 30 percent. And it imposes unprecedented hurdles that have never been required for other Clean Air Act plans. [2]
We’re in the middle of the most important step our country has ever taken to address global warming. We can’t afford to let Harrisburg mess this up by putting politics where it doesn’t belong.
The bill has already passed in the House of Representatives, so it’s now or never. Will you tell your senator to vote against this attack on the Clean Air Act? [3]
