On October 16th several Grey Nuns, associates and friends gathered in D’Youville College Chapel to celebrate the feast day of St. Marguerite D’Youville, which is celebrated on the day of her baptism. Sister Ruth Penksa, GNSH led the group in prayer and a Communion service.Grey Nun Associates, Joyce Murphy and Al Killian read sections from the life of Marguerite highlighting her experience of the Unconditional Love of the Father, Trust in Divine Providence and Love and Service to the Poor.
Service to the poor is Marguerite’s deepest motivational force. Compassionate service to the poor is the charism that emanates from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Marguerite’s spirit and example span the centuries. She is truly the Mother of Universal Charity.
Cider and donuts, brought by associate, Mary Jane Key, completed the celebration.
