Motherhouse and D’Youville Manor Sisters, staff, visitors and friends helped out with recent appeals for financial assistance. The Buck Up Bucks County fundraiser was for agencies supporting the homeless and netted $620.30. Two Bucks County agencies providing services to the homeless of the county are Advocates for Homeless & Those in Need, which needs a new bus to continue their services, and The Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, whose bathrooms need renovation.
The other was an effort to supply children with warm hats, scarves and gloves. Enough money was collected to purchase 600 sets, which were distributed to students at Windmere, a school in Morrisville, NJ where 90% of the children in grades 1 through 5 are on public assistance.
Our thanks to Sisters Kay Purser and Rose Mary Cauley for bringing these needs to our attention– and thank you to the many generous people who supported these fundraising efforts!
