Good news for PA Fracking opponents!

The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart are pleased to share this good news with you from PennEnvironment!

Over the last year, tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians spoke out against Gov. Corbett’s effort to open more state parks and forests to fracking — and now newly elected Governor Wolf has reinstated the moratorium on opening more of these areas to fracking. This is exactly how democracy is supposed to work.

Email Gov. Wolf today to thank him for his leadership in protecting Pennsylvania’s beloved natural heritage.

Pennsylvanians from all walks of life and all political affiliations called on Tom Wolf to protect our parks and forests from fracking if elected. He heard your voices and has undone former Governor Corbett’s attacks on our precious wild lands, reinstating a moratorium against the further leasing of park and forestlands for fracking.

Unfortunately, we’re sure the fracking industry will attack Governor Wolf’s action. And that’s why he needs to know how much the people of Pennsylvania appreciate him standing up for our state parks and forests and the beginning of his term.
