As we announced last month, we are having a sock drive and sock sorting in celebration of the Year of Consecrated Life. We are partnering with The Joy of Sox, an organization that distributes socks to the homeless throughout the country.
We are grateful to all who have volunteered to help with the Sock Project which officially began at Grey Nun Academy on September 11! St. Andrew’s Parish and St. Mark’s Parish are collecting socks. Our partners at Holy Redeemer Lafayette and Holy Redeemer D’Youville Manor have volunteered space and time. Special thanks to our Grey Nun Associates who have offered to help!
Sock sorting will take place throughout the week of October 12-16 to coincide with the Birthday and Feast day of St. Marguerite D’Youville. Helpers will be needed during the week to pick up socks from donation locations and begin the sorting process. Click this link to sign up!
If you’d like to collect socks at your place of employment Click here for a Sox Box Label. If you need a flyer, two versions are available: General socks project flyer and Detailed socks project flyer. We especially hope you will join us on Friday October 16 as we join hands to help feet!
