The Year of Consecrated Life was celebrated by Grey Nuns, Associates, and friends in the Buffalo area on Sunday, September 13, with an open house from 2:00 to 4:00. The site was Sacred Heart Center. The door was open and the welcome mat out.
About twenty people came to tour the convent and enjoy the cakes and cookies provided by the women of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Most visitors were from the parish, but a small group came from a nearby parish. At 2:30 Sr. Joan Daly led a prayer service for peace which was designed by the local LCWR group.
Toward the end of the gathering, someone was inspired to turn on the television to check the score on the Buffalo Bills football game. Cheers went up whenit became clear that the Bills were trouncing their opponent.
May God Bless The Works Of Your Hands
