The Joy of (sorting) Socks!

Written on: September 29, 2015

The official day for Sock sorting will be Friday October 16, the Feast day of St. Marguerite D’Youville. St. Marguerite began her ministry in Montreal by caring for the sick and homeless she encountered on the streets. We selected the project of collecting socks, primarily for the homeless, to honor this work of our foundress.

Volunteers will join us at Holy Redeemer/D’Youville Manor that day to sort and pack as much as we can for the non-profit ministry, The Joy of Sox. We’ll work from 9:30 am through the afternoon. Preliminary sorting will take place throughout the week of October 12-16.

We are grateful to all of our partners who have offered to collect and sort along with us! If you would like to help out, but aren’t in the area, donations of socks and monetary donations to purchase socks may be sent to:
