Action Alert: Homelessness and Human Trafficking

Written on: October 23, 2015

The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart pass on this action alert hoping that you will add your name to the petition. Child homelessness is a major issue very much connected to human trafficking. Our own Sister Christina DeYcaza worked at Covenant House many years back.

According to a Covenant House study*, almost a quarter of surveyed youth have either been victims of trafficking or traded sex for something of value, including food or a place to sleep.  I know you believe we must protect these innocent kids.

Right now, the Senate has a chance to vote on crucial legislation in the fight against sex trafficking and it is imperative we tell them to take action.

Will you urge the Senate to fight for American children and sign our petition today?

Congress has repeatedly failed to address this major issue, allowing a large package of anti-trafficking bills to die in the Senate last year.

As President of Covenant House, I have met too many homeless kids that have been traumatized by abusive, exploitative pimps and johns on the streets. We can help these innocent children heal and protect the next kid from falling prey to traffickers… but we need your help to do it.

Your signature will protect abandoned and neglected children across the nation. Sign our petition now.

For the future of our country,

Kevin Ryan
President, Covenant House
