The legacy left by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart was honored on Sunday, October 25, at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. In celebration of the rich heritage of Catholic education provided by Religious Congregations the GNSH were invited along with the present congregation, the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Sisters Julia Lanigan, Maureen O’Hara, Rita Frances Brady and Anne Boyer attended. Sr. Mary Charlotte provided an archival display of our Sisters’ presence in the parish.
During the celebration, Sr. Maureen O’Hara, former principal at the school, met up with one of her former students. He was so pleased to see her and be able to introduce Sister to his wife, and family.
It’s nice to know our presence is a treasured gift!
