Advocates for Homeless & Those in Need (AHTN), in Lower Bucks County, PA, runs year-long missions serving the homeless and those in need of various services and financial assistance. We are always looking for volunteers to help with Code Blue, which starts December 1st; and Wheels to Meals; Rejuvenation Station and Those in Need, which are year-round missions.
If you are in the area and would like to help the homeless, we are conducting AHTN Volunteer Orientations on the two days listed below.
Wednesday, November 4th at 7:00 pm at Emmaus Road Lutheran Church
Thursday, December 17th at 7:00 pm at Morrisville United Methodist Church
Thank you so much for considering this way of serving the community!

Sister Kathleen Purser, GNSH: I have been involved with the Advocates for the Homeless and Those in Need (AHTN) for almost a year and can vouch for their service to the needy and the homeless. It all began when we had a donation canister at the reception desk at the Motherhouse for raising money for a bus for AHTN as part of the Buck Up for Bucks campaign sponsored by the Bucks County Courier last Fall. I have primarily been a Bus Attendant, but I have also been involved with Code Blue, overnight arrangements for the homeless in a given church when the temperature is very low. The bus goes out at 8 PM and picks up the homeless at designated stops and then brings them to the church hosting Code Blue for the night. Once we get back to the church with the riders, we drop them off, go in with them, stay around for a short while and then go home.
I am happy to share more about the actual experience of being with the homeless. I had never worked with the homeless until last year!
