ATEST: Alliance to End Slavery & Trafficking

Written on: March 14, 2016

The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart have been supporting  ATEST (Alliance to End Slavery & Trafficking). ATEST is a U.S. based coalition that advocates for solution to prevent and end all forms of human trafficking and modern slavery around the world. Their multi-level efforts help protect and deliver services to victims of human trafficking, punish offenders, and prevent this crime from happening by writing letters to U.S. legislators. From time to time we pause to remind everyone of actions taken by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. This is one of those times.

A variety of letters  have just been signed to request action in the form of funding and/or establishing authorized programs in the FY 2017 Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies Appropriations bill by seven key congressional appropriations subcommittees, as well as the Armed Services Committee of the House and Senate. If you would like to read any or all of the letters, they are available at the following links.
