No, Pope Francis wasn’t really there!

The annual Diocese of Buffalo Youth Convention took place February 26 to 28 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo, NY. About 800  youth and adult chaperones explored the theme of Know Mercy, in recognition of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Three Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart helped with the Mercy Walk which had seven stations, each one representing a different Spiritual Work of Mercy. Sr. Joan and Sr. Donna helped with the station “Bear Wrongs Patiently” which consisted of carrying a number of bricks down a long path an they pondered a way they are being, or have been, wronged and praying for grace to respond as Jesus would. Mary Jane Key and other adult volunteers helped along the Mercy Walk.

MercySr. Barbara Schiavoni helped with “Instruct the Uninformed.” She met one-on-one with young people to help them practice articulating their faith so that if the opportunity arose, they would be able to share what their faith means to them with others. Some of the other stations involved making tiaras for children being treated for cancer, packing food supplies for CRS relief efforts and writing prayer intentions.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this wonderful event for the youth of Buffalo!
