Sister Catherine Bleiler (Sister John Catherine) grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, the oldest in a happy, bustling household of six children. Cathy met the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart at Cardinal Dougherty High School and entered the congregation in 1966. Her care of younger brothers and sisters prepared her well for her role as an elementary school teacher and later, preschool teacher. She served in teaching ministry at Immaculate Conception School in Lowell, Massachusetts, at Mother of Divine Providence School in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, at St. Rose of Lima School and St. Gregory the Great School in Buffalo, New York. She opened the Precious Paws Preschool at St. Gregory’s and served as Director and teacher of the 4 year olds for nine years.
I look forward to this celebration like no other! I could never imagine all of the wonderful educational experiences I have encountered that have shaped me to be the teacher of so many students. I have always said that my students taught me things I would have never otherwise encountered. God puts His design into place now and will continually lead me where I am needed. Divine Providence has and continues to work in my life. I also would not be who I am today if not for the many Grey Nuns I have lived and worked with over these 50 years. They have been blessings to me!
Was thinking about you today. Why? I don’t know so I thought I would google you and behold! You truly are a bundle of energy. Where are you? Keep in tough.
Sister Cathy
Linda and I are sitting here watching on line the first mass
Of Father Sam Giangreco. Kindergarten classmate of
Our oldest son Alex. (And at the mention that you were in the audience went to Memory Lane)
You were the First teacher of all 3 of our boys (Alex,Ryan,Mark). And lol so “few” (24) years later
We ALWAYS say you were the Best one!
Fr. Sam’s and so many many children’s faith in the Lord is
Based on the teachings of your classrooms. As is the beginnings of their education. Linda loved being your “Room
Mother” 2x. And I always enjoyed chaperoning Becker Farm
Pumpkin trips.
Congratulations on your Jubilee!! Such a testament
To faith. Congratulations to Fr Sam and your spirit
As part of his faith
With the most fondest remembrances
Jim and Linda Schwartz

Sr. Cathy
Congregations 50 years Very impressive Remember all those great days together as Teacher and Friend. I believe Paul and I hosted your 25 at Lockport Country Club. You have touched many lives over the years.
Congratulations! Thank you for the fun we had in our short-lived stint as Charlie’s Angels at the reception desk at HAA!
I hope all is well with you!
Sr. Cathy, so hard to believe time has flown by so quickly. Your student Paul O’Connor will be a doctor in one year and Peter just graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame. I guess you gave them a solid start! Miss you and our dinners filled with laughter. We must celebrate when you come to Buffalo for a visit. Many Blessings on this most joyous occasion. Love, MaryLesa and Clan.
Sister Cathy, as you were known to your kindergarten class at St. Rose, congratulations on your 50th year! I have found memories of how kindergarten use to be. Snack time and nap time ! Those were the days.
By the way you look great and haven’t aged after all those little kids over the years. I have 4 of my own and the aging process has taken me for a loop!!
It’s hard to imagine that 50 years have gone by so quickly.
Blessings to you on your Jubilee!
