Corner on Vocations

Written on: May 1, 2016

Know someone who may be thinking about a vocation to consecrated religious life?

A collaborative retreat,Come and Sea 2016 has been planned by vocation directors in the Delaware Valley to be held the weekend of May 20-22, 2016 at Cape May Point, NJ.  The retreat is open to women and men, ages 21-40. A short walk to the beach provides a nature-filled environment in which to open ears and hearts to God’s call.  Contact Maryellen  for more information. The National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) reviewed their membership areas and learned a great deal about how each  (former) region operated, the challenges and the resources available as well as ways to serve membership more effectively.  A new system of Member Areas will replace the original Regions after the October Convocation.  Member areas are larger, and more in keeping with where vocation directors actually go to attend meetings, access resources, training’s and participate in collaborative vocation efforts.  So, for those familiar with the former appellation, we are now in the Delaware Valley Member Area.

NRVC continually strives to meet the needs of its members and to advocate for all forms of religious life, nationally and internationally. As religious life continues to evolve it is nice to know we have this organization as an advocate.

The monthly Mass for Vocations will be said on Wednesday, May 4. Please join in this petition wherever you may be. Your prayers for vocations are vitally important!
