Sisters Julia and Mary Elizabeth attended the launch of a new website www.PrayersUnitetheWorld.org. This was the brainchild of Mr. Ed Lawrence, a religion teacher at Archbishop Ryan High School, Philadelphia. Mr. Lawrence has been a longtime supporter of religious life for women and men. His goal with this project was to connect religious communities with people who need their prayers. In so doing, he provides a space for congregations to tell their story as a way for people to be inspired and to learn. We have a short Animoto video on the site which you may have seen. Please visit the site to learn more.
The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation recently launched a publicity campaign, Sister To All, to draw attention to the works of women religious as well as the beautiful diversity found amongst communities today. There are so many wonderful things being done quietly by religious women and this project helps to bring them into the light. We are grateful to the foundation for helping all of us to share our stories. We will be incorporating some of their ideas into our own social media outreach.
Vision Magazine, the annual vocation guide published through the NRVC (National Religious Vocation Conference) has a new Grey Nun ad featuring the open book found on the Annual Report and our website, pictured here. We have been getting a good response from the new ad– please pray that it continues.
And, please also continue to pray for those discerning in today’s world. They are faced with so many challenges and options that make choosing something as radical as Consecrated Life, more difficult than ever.
