Action Item- the environment

The message below is from the Environmental Defense Fund. As you know, President Trump and his administration have already been rolling back long-established protections to the environment. Here are some action steps that can be taken.

These are trying times for those of us who care about the environment and are active in the fight to protect it.

In your emails to us and survey responses, the word used most often in describing your feelings about the Trump Administration is “frightened.” And with the Administration’s efforts to slash EPA’s budget, block the Clean Power Plan, and undermine core clean air and clean water protections, these are indeed frightening times.

But even with hope for environmental progress at the federal level in short supply, there are still many other opportunities to reduce pollution and spur clean energy innovation even in this new political era.

That’s why EDF is launching The Path Forward—10 big priorities we are taking on, not only to protect and defend our natural heritage, but also to seize every opportunity to go on offense and fight for climate action.

For 50 years, EDF has been on the leading edge of environmental innovation and progress and we aren’t stopping now. Our Path Forward campaign is a bold, forward-looking plan of action with key strategic objectives to guide our work.

I urge you to take a look at the Path Forward, take action to support our 10 priorities, and spread the word about how we’re working together to make progress even in this challenging political era.

Americans support strong environmental protections. We want clean air, clean water, clean energy, and action on climate. And we want good jobs and a growing economy. We want an opportunity agenda that leverages innovation and puts people to work building out a clean energy infrastructure for the 21st century.

With your support and advocacy, we will aggressively pursue those goals with our Path Forward campaign.
