If you have been wondering what you can do by way of response to President Trump’s withdrawing from the Paris Accord here are two ideas:
As you have heard, President Trump decided to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. Catholic leaders have responded with dismay and disappointment.
Catholic teaching insists that climate change is a grave moral issue that threatens our commitments: to protect human life, health, dignity, and security; to exercise a preferential option for the poor; to promote the common good of which the climate is part; to live in solidarity with future generations; to realize peace; and to care for God’s good gift of creation.
Let President Trump know you are disappointed with his decision and that you pledge to take action to deal with climate change. The federal government may be abdicating leadership, yet Catholics will help lead the way to climate justice.
Once you send the statement, Catholic Climate Covenant will send you some resources (prayers and action tips) to use individually or with your faith community as a way to respond to this very dismaying action. We invite you to pray for our nation and for our common home.
