The Serve with Mercy Event was a success for those who participated. Three ministry sites hosted about seven volunteers each. It was a wonderful way to introduce young adults to the many ways Religious Women and Men are helping to improve the lives of our brothers and sisters living in one of the poorest areas of Philadelphia.
The Vocation Directors in the Delaware Valley gathered the first week of October to make plans for the coming months of activities. Maryellen Glackin will once again coordinate the Busy Person Retreats for the Area and we are looking forward to meeting with students at about 7 local Colleges and Universities in the New Year.
National Vocation Awareness Week is November 5-11. Look for parish recognition during Mass, Pastoral letters about religious vocations and of course, lots of Social Media posts about the JOY of Religious Life! Click here for a print out of facts about Religious Life Today
If you know a religious sister, brother or priest who has made a difference in your life, this would be a perfect time to reach out and thank them!
Recently we participated through Social Media in two initiatives: The Season of Creation and Share the Journey. Posts from both campaigns were shared on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts and have been added to the collection of photos on our Flickr page (which is attached to our website). We hope you were able to see and share them! Click on the links for more!
If you take photos of nature (the ocean, fall foliage, flowers) we would love to have them for our Flickr page and social media posts. Maryellen is always searching for interesting pictures to use and would love to have some original compositions to use. Funny pictures are always welcome, too!
We are all responsible for creating a culture of vocations. You begin by living your vocation as a child of God to the fullest!
