Pray for our Climate

Written on: November 3, 2017

We are happy to share the following with you from our friends at Global Catholic Climate Movement.

Something is happening with the Paris climate agreement.

In 2015, nations met at a UN-facilitated summit in Paris. Their purpose: to craft a deal to limit global warming.

Against tough odds, they succeeded. Every country in the world except Syria is a member of the Paris agreement.

Now, climate negotiators are meeting again. At a meeting in Bonn, Germany next week, they will craft a “rule book” for the Paris framework.

Please pray for the next stage of the Paris climate talks. Download the prayer guide here.

This meeting will be co-hosted by the nation of Fiji. The people of Fiji, and many of their neighbors in the Pacific Islands, are under immediate threat from sea level rise.  The United States has said it wants out of the deal, but the earliest date for withdrawal would be 2020.

Shine the light of compassion on those who urgently need it.
