“In the spirit of St. Marguerite d’ Youville,Our Foundress,
Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart strive
To be signs of God’s unconditional love
As we collaborate to create a more just and compassionate world.”
These words of our mission statement comprise the points of our congregation’s North Star. Our mission remains the constant, shining beacon that lights our path from the past, through the present and into the future. We strive to be signs of God’s unconditional love as we serve God and God’s people through prayer, ministry and advocacy.
By following the links below, you will read of how our sisters, as signs of God’s unconditional love, reach out to others. For every one of their stories, there are many other stories of sisters.
Through your prayers and your financial gifts to us, you too are signs of God’s unconditional love. Thank you for your love, your prayers and your support. We are deeply grateful.
May God bless you abundantly for your kindness to us and to all of those to whom we minister.
Sister Julia C. Lanigan, GNSH
Sister Anne Boyer (Sister Mary Mark): In July, Sister led a gathering of Grey Nuns and our friends and neighbors in a brief but meaningful interlude of prayer and silent reflection.
Sister Mary Teresa LaBrake (Sister Maria Goretti): In her many years in ministry, Sister has served as a dynamic and comforting spiritual presence to people whose paths crossed hers in her home town of Ogdensburg, New York.
Sister Karen Marie Voltz: After 50 years in the classroom, Sister Karen Marie Voltz now works in parish pastoral ministry in Buffalo, New York.
Sister Eileen Spanier: As a campus minister at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Sister Eileen Spanier spends her time listening to and talking with young people of different faiths, diverse backgrounds and evolving values.
We are grateful for your prayerful and generous support. We welcome your donations at any time in support of all of our Sisters who, even in retirement, continue to serve the people of God.
