Tidings of Good Cheer

Written on: January 5, 2018

As Advent led us forward to Christmas, and ultimately a New Year, we now pause to reflect on where the past year has taken us and where the future will lead.
Our offices were able to combine into one building after a temporary separation. Although on two floors, at least we are all together in one place after the move from the Yardley Motherhouse. We order out lunch on Fridays to make sure we spend some time together, and we recently were gifted with a Quesadilla maker for spontaneous lunches. Our staff retreat in November was a special time to spend with each other and be grateful for the opportunity to continue to share the Mission of St. Marguerite, even in challenging times.
Our Sisters near and far have been finding creative ways to interact with new neighbors, hosting prayer events and organizing days of reflection, as well as inspiring recycling efforts! There is no end to the creativity and passion behind the advocacy efforts of our Sisters!
Our Associates continue to be a source of support and inspiration to us, and to one another; lovingly supporting and challenging each other, and us, through the joys and sorrows of life.
As we look forward to 2018, we’ll be celebrating Jubilees for seven Sisters who have dedicated a total of 430 Years of service to the people of God. We’ll also pause for a Chapter Meeting in April to set the Congregational direction for the next 5 years and elect new leadership for the Congregation. Planning meetings have already taken place and will continue.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about our activities, our advocacy, and glimpses into our daily lives throughout the past year. We are happy to share these moments with you.
We hope you and your loved ones had a most Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
