Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart ask you to join us in a day of prayer and fasting on September 8th, a feast day of Mary, for all those affected by the priest abuse situation which has injured many people and caused heartache and confusion to all involved.
Let us ask for
healing,
forgiveness and
compassion
for all those involved and ask that our faith in God be strengthened during this time of turmoil and sadness.
United in Prayer,
Sr. Denise Roche, GNSH
President, Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart
Prayer and fasting is good; so is forgiveness and compassion. But my faith is shaken by the fact that few, if any, of the clergy who have abused are arrested and charged. Then the legal system in this country can take over from there. It’s the hiding without legal consequences that makes many, like me so angry. It feels so corrupt.
You are right, but both are needed. Many whose actions have been brought to light are deceased, many are beyond the reach of the legal system. Our hope is that people are believed and perpetrators are removed from harming others. Change and justice both move slowly in this world; ultimately God’s justice and compassion are swift and true.
Thank you for this most beautiful way of uniting us in asking for forgiveness and discernment. I so much appreciate who you are and all you do. I am sharing your info with people I know.
