Sr. Marita Campbell receives Award

The New York Chapter of the Association of Play Therapists conferred their Lifetime Achievement Award on Sister Marita Campbell at their recent conference. This award is given to “a person whose commitment to developing the field of play therapy, whether through teaching, writing, clinical practice and/or professional mentoring, has set them apart as a model for others to emulate.”

Described as “a person of exceeding kindness, with a true heart for children,” Marita is known in Western New York in particular for her work with young victims of sexual abuse and she has helped countless children and their families to heal. She is the person referred the most difficult cases, has mentored many play therapists and trained Child Protection workers throughout the state.
