Holy Redeemer Lafayette
The monthly meeting of Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart at Holy Redeemer Lafayette was held on Saturday, January 25th. Six Grey Nun volunteers led small group discussions or faith sharing on topics as diverse as Making Meaning of Life Events and Matthew’s parables.
Holy Redeemer Lafayette residents, though disappointed that neither the Eagles (Fly, Eagles, Fly!), nor the Buffalo Bills, nor the NE Patriots, nor other varied favorites will be in the Super Bowl, can participate in a Super Bowl contest and heighten the excitement of the game on February 2nd.
Tremont Plaza Sisters
Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart living at Tremont Plaza are organizing a Meet Neighbors and Eat Desserts night on February 12, 2020. This will be the second evening of its kind at the Plaza. The evening gives the Plaza Social Club members, many of whom have become good friends to our Sisters, and others a chance to converse informally over sweets and treats with the Grey Nuns, who now number 17 at “the Plaza.”
Pantry Day also included some warm items for winter. Jackets were donated by the Knights of Columbus and a new friend, Natalie, brought hats, gloves, scarves and socks she had collected.
Not only was it a delight to welcome this person who traveled from Danville, PA, but we were graced with her generosity. Although the weather on January 18 was frightful with snow, rain and ice, Natalie brought a (very timely) ray of sunshine to the Pantry Day!
Sr. Diane Bardol provides a prayer service once a month for the residents of Artis where 3 of our Sisters live. This month, Sr. Jean Liston led the prayer service which focused on the love God has for each of us. The format included reflections by children about what God’s love is, the sharing of hearts and listening to Andrea Bocelli’s The Our Father (click to listen)
Thank You!
Dear Sisters, Associates, and ALL,
Thanks to each one of you from the bottom of my heart for your concern and prayer. I appreciate all the cards, too. Love, Sr. Anne (Boyer)
