Towards a More Perfect Union

We are sharing the following with you because as women religious, we believe the path to peace comes through prayer and contemplative dialogue. When we truly listen to each other it is much easier to understand (if not agree) with each other and forge a way to peaceful co-existence. We will provide the link to the weekly reflection on this page.

As the 2020 national election cycle becomes more intense these next several weeks, we believe that LCWR’s practice of contemplative dialogue, deep listening, and mutual respect are prophetic actions that we can offer in these difficult days.

With that in mind, we have created an eight-week long experience, “A More Perfect Union: 2020 Election Reflections.” During these next eight weeks we are inviting people of faith across the country to prayer and dialogue. We hope you will gather groups of community members, friends, colleagues, or neighbors for some virtual conversation about the state of our democracy. We encourage you to stretch beyond your comfort zone. Invite those who don’t normally sit around your table. The greater the diversity, the more fruitful the dialogue. Wouldn’t it be amazing if scores of faith-filled groups across the country took just an hour each week to talk about the values we share and the challenges we face as a nation.
