The UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons is entering into force on 22 January. This is a historic moment. Faith Communities Concerned about Nuclear Weapons, is an informal group of faith organizations active at disarmament discussions at the UN, who want to celebrate this milestone and inform more people about this important Treaty.
Because it is in keeping with our Corporate Stand Against Nuclear Weapons, the draft of the Joint Interfaith Statement on the Entry into Force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), has been signed on behalf of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. We were invited to sign this statement because of our endorsement of their last statement on the 75th anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki last year.
Pace e bene,
Sister Diane
