The GNSH had an Ascension Thursday celebration outside at the Plaza to celebrate being able to (finally) gather together! The weather cooperated for a perfect Philadelphia Spring morning.
Sisters Bridget and Diane Bardol organized the event, cleared it with Plaza management, and even moved picnic tables around! They ordered pizza and sent an invitation to all Grey Nuns at the Plaza.
They had deviled eggs made by Bridget and snacks of many varieties, soda provided by Sister John Helen, and several kinds of pizza. The Sisters at the Plaza now number 18. Sr. Pierrette Remillard got a ride over from Lafayette with Sr. Anne Marie. Sr. Barbara Harrington happened to be in town and she dropped by with Sr. Carol Bartol.
The event coincided with Sr. Julia’s move to the Plaza which made it the perfect opportunity to introduce her to other residents. The woman who is our contact with the management dropped by and we shared our pizza with her. Four or five friends from the “social club” of the Plaza saw our gathering and also dropped by. The Sisters were delighted to see them and introduced Sister Julia to them. (Several Sisters all belong to the social club, which used to have monthly activities, including occasional bingo- hopefully again, soon! ) View more photos here
