During this time of crisis in Ukraine, we join our hearts and prayers with all those who are displaced and suffering the effects of war.
The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart have made financial contributions to assist the people of Ukraine through the Sisters of St. Basil– a Ukrainian Catholic group of Sisters who live in our area, and who have Sisters in Ukraine. They have told us they are in need of supplies and money to assist the people who have been forced from their homes and country. For anyone who may want to contribute to needs in Ukraine, the Sisters of St. Basil are accepting financial donations by check; these can be mailed to Sisters of St. Basil, 710 Fox Chase Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046. Please mark “Ukraine Assistance” on the check. Donations can also be made through Catholic Relief Services
We have included a prayer for Ukraine as the reflection for April. Thank you to IHM Sister Christine Koelhoffer for sharing this with us.
The consecration of Ukraine and Russia to Mary, Mother of the Church is a significant step for the Church to take at this time. We ask Mary’s protection for all the people who are suffering, but also for the many generous and compassionate people who have come to their aid.
We pray for a peaceful end to this conflict and for an end to all war.
