GNSH Associate News: Monthly Grey Nun Associate Zoom gatherings have expanded to include Associates and friends from Kodiak, Alaska! Fru Finn, Colleen Helligso and Marylynn McFarland joined for the May meeting. Sr. Diane Bardol shared her story during the meeting. We look forward to welcoming friends from Kodiak at future Zoom gatherings.
The next Grey Nun Associate gathering is Saturday June 11 at 10:30 am Eastern Daylight Savings time. All are welcome- Contact Angel Conicelli for more information about participating in the Zoom meeting, or learning more about the Grey Nun Associates. All are welcome!
Subversive Habits. Book launch: The Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, together with Duquesne University, invite you to listen as Dr. Shannen Dee Williams, author of Subversive Habits talks about her book which provides us with the first history of Black Catholic nuns and their role in the long African American freedom struggle. Centennial Singers Spring Concerts: The Centennial Singers will give a concert this coming Wednesday evening, May 25th, at 7:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lafayette. Sr. Mary Karen Kelly has been singing with the Centennial Singers for many years and will be performing with them again on Wednesday, May 26. Sister Anne Zita is a former member of the group. There will be another concert by the Centennial Singers on Saturday, June 4th, at 7:30 p.m. in Warminster, PA, if you’re unable to be at the concert on May 25th. Sr. Mary Charlotte Barton signed my diploma! She was a lovely person and I was sorry to read of her recent passing.”
