Grey Nun Associates: During the July gathering of Grey Nun Associates, Sister Jean Liston shared her experiences of ministry as a Grey Nun along with wisdom she has gained over the years through her encounters with others. There will not be a Grey Nun Associate meeting in August. The next Grey Nun Associate gathering will be Saturday September 10 at 10:30 am EDT, by Zoom. All are welcome- Contact Angel Conicelli for more information about participating in the Zoom meeting, or learning more about the Grey Nun Associates. All are welcome!

Art Show to Benefit Asylee Women Enterprise: Sister Bridget Connor, a Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart and a native of Philadelphia, is hosting a showing of her art. Sister Bridget works mainly in oil. The Art show and sale will benefit Asylee Women Enterprise (AWE) of Baltimore. Eight congregations of Catholic women religious serving in Baltimore along with organizing founder, Molly Corbett, began working together in 2011 to provide housing and a network of community support for women seeking asylum in Baltimore. While AWE maintains close relationships with these founding congregations, AWE is now a secular organization continuing to be open to all forced migrants. The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart were among the founding congregations. We continue to support this critically important ministry to asylum seekers, and all proceeds from the art show will be directed to AWE. We welcome you to join us on Sunday, September 18, 2022 to enjoy, and purchase Sr. Bridget’s artwork as we all support Asylee Women Enterprise. The art show will take place at Cranaleith Spiritual Center, 13475 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116-1308, from 2pm to 8pm.

Anniversary Congratulations! We’d like to wish Eileen Dickerson a very happy 20th Anniversary in her role as Director of Development. Eileen  started working with the GNSH on July 8, 2002. She had been a board member of D’Youville Manor where her skills were noticed.  Eileen is a valuable asset to the Congregation, as well as our many benefactors.  Congratulations, and thank you! Shrine of The Cross in the Woods–  From Betty Cipollini, GNSHA: A recent trip to the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods in Indian River, Michigan was delightful. It was a peaceful spot on beautifully wooded grounds. It is a working parish, and a museum. In the museum, there were dolls representing every Congregation of Sisters!  Each doll is dressed in the traditional habit of the Congregation.

Happy Birthday: Wishing the following Sisters and co-workers very happy birthdays in August: Anne Kane (7); Debbie Adams (8); Sr. Kathleen Hannan (14); Sr. Barbara Harrington (21); Evelina McGuigan (27). May God’s love protect and bless each of you in the year ahead!
