GNSHAssociates: On October 29, over 130 Associates and Sisters from several congregations came together on Zoom for a day of reflection. Led by Sr. Carol Zinn, SSJ, participants explored the theme “Associates: A Vocation Within a Vocation.” Sr. Carol emphasized that Associates are “carriers of the charism” in a unique way; distinct from and complementary to the Sisters.
The day included small group discussions in which participants from different communities shared experiences, plus time for Associates and Sisters of the same congregations to reflect together. Several Grey Nun Associates participated and continued their sharing at the November GNSHA Zoom meeting. A recording of Sr. Carol’s presentation will be available soon.
At the December 10 Associates Zoom meeting, (10:30am-12 EST) we will continue the discussion with focus on future directions for the GNSH Associate relationship. All are welcome; contact Angel Conicelli for more information: BeingCelestial@yahoo.com
Artis Celebrations Submitted by Sr. Barbara Schiavoni.
Artis residents celebrated the Phillies’ World Series run with a party that included games, singing, soft pretzels and pizza. Our sisters (L-R) Kay Purser, Katie McGady and Joan Daly, joined in the fun along with Srs. Eileen Spanier and Barbara Schiavoni. Notice the Phillies caps and shirt!
Then, on November 12, Sr. Joan Daly celebrated a special birthday. Joan appreciated the cards, prayers and good wishes from sisters and friends and especially enjoyed reading each card aloud! Happy Birthday, Joan!
Sisters Gather for Prayer: Every Wednesday afternoon our Sisters pray together with Maureen Goodall and Ann Kane and a few members of Leadership. Afterwards, they enjoy catching up on community news and sharing stories. Maureen and Ann are invaluable members of our support team who assist Sisters with some of their physical care, and now spiritual care needs. We are so grateful to Maureen and Ann for their special care of our Sisters. (pictured here Maureen Goodall with Sr. Maureen Quigley
Advent Reflections: This year, we are doing something a little different. Rather than weekly reflections, we will offer two reflections on the general themes of Advent. The first reflection can be found here.
