Although we are all troubled about the news we hear each day about the suffering in the Middle East, the threat of impending war and the fear of escalation, we know that the circumstances are moving toward greater violence and loss of life and the threat of imminent war is considered almost certain.
The Holy Father, Pope Francis has asked us all to offer this Friday, October 27, as a day of prayer and fasting, asking for peace to prevail in Palestine, Israel and Gaza and other parts of the world where war and violence prevail.
Let us join with one another in mind and heart to ask God to restore peace where there is war and to bring about just resolutions to the issues that seem impossible.
Pope Francis has called on people of all faiths to join into this worldwide effort to ask for the restoration of peace.
